This charming child statue is one of a pair (see also Girl Reading) which would make a beautiful enhancement as a garden ornament, or could also be used indoors perhaps as a book shelf ornament in a library. The Boy Reading child statue features a young Victorian boy sitting on a cushion, one leg tucked slightly underneath him and an open book on his lap. The book bears letters of the alphabet. The boy is wearing a Victorian-style boy's dress, which is falling loosely from his left shoulder. He is wearing a locket on a necklace around his neck. He is looking down at the book and is pointing to the letters with his right hand. The cushion has tassels on the front two corners and the whole piece sits on a plinth. This garden ornament is a delightful Victorian-style piece by Dragonstone which has an antique-effect finish. The Boy Reading child statue has a height of 29cm and weighs 3kg.
